SICHUAN (China), 5th June 2023, WAM — A landslide destroyed a miner’s dormitory in the early hours of Sunday morning, killing 19. Other workers were evacuated from the mine to safety.

The disaster occurred in the Leshan County of Sichuan Province’s mountainous rural district, where it has been raining continuously for weeks.

The search and rescue effort ended on Sunday night. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of collapse.

Over 180 professionals, including 14 rescue specialists, were sent to the scene.
