RAS AL KHAIMAH 5th May 2023 (WAM). — H.H. Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr AlQasimi is the Supreme Council Member of Ras Al Khaimah and the Ruler. He paid tribute to the Founding fathers for the historic and decisive decision they made to unify all the Armed Forces in the country under one flag.
In his speech at the 47th Armed Forces Unification Day to mark the day, Sheikh Saud highlighted the importance of the Founding Fathers’ vision. He said that the vision fulfilled the Emiratis’ aspirations to create a force that was wise and peaceful, and that would protect the nation’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
He added that the unification also instilled in Emiratis the values of belonging and loyalty, which ensured the prosperity of the country and the well-being of its people.
The ruler of Ras Al Khaimah has praised Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his fellow Founding fathers, for their vision. He noted that the unification on May 6, 1976 was a shining icon in the UAE’s history. It laid the foundation for the successful establishment of the country.
He continued, “Today the UAE Armed Forces are an impenetrable wall, protecting the Union’s gains and achievements, and maintaining the security and stability of the homeland.” In the last 47 years they have achieved numerous successes, and shown their defensive readiness and efficiency in facing security challenges.
The Armed Forces also contributed to the international efforts to maintain stability and security in different countries, demonstrating their steadfast doctrine of defending truth, consolidating peace, stability, and development.
Sheikh Saud expressed his gratitude towards the loyal officers of the Armed Forces. He praised their efficiency, sincerity and devotion to their country and their people.
The UAE Armed Forces under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Commander and President of the UAE Armed Forces has made significant progress in the advancement of military units and defence industries.
The UAE military has confirmed its leadership role in the region as well as the world. It has earned regional and international recognition, and contributed to global peace.
