His Highness, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vice President, Deputy Premier and Minister of Presidential Court expressed his gratitude and appreciative to President His highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses Supreme council members and Rulers in the Emirates on the occasion the UAE Armed Forces Unification Day.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour, in a special statement for ‘Nation Shield,’ praised President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s efforts to enhance the capabilities of the UAE Armed Forces. He also praised his care and concern for the Armed Forces members, retired personnel and families of martyrs.

He also highlighted the achievements of UAE Armed Forces, in maintaining peace and security in the country, as well as their contribution to major development and service projects, international efforts to maintain security and stability, combat terrorism and provide assistance in disasters and conflict situations.

His Highness paid tribute to all the members of the UAE Armed Forces, who gave their lives in order to safeguard the nation’s achievements and sovereignty. He acknowledged their loyalty, devotion and readiness, which have made the UAE an united and solid nation. The UAE is marching confidently into the future, whose foundations had been established by the Founding fathers.

He said, “On this glorious Day, we pray for late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan – the UAE’s founder and first Supreme Commander for the UAE Armed Forces – and his successor Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan – as well as for the soldiers who gave their lives in defense of the country.

“These sacrifices are ingrained deeply in the memory of our nation and will be immortalised in their hearts as a source for pride, honour and dignity.”
