ABU DHABI – Held under the patronage President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s, H.H. Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan attended the 20th Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award.
H.H. Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed presented the 18 winners for their outstanding achievements in achieving organisational excellence in various fields.
This year’s SKEA was organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and took place at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Abu Dhabi. The event saw a 25 percent increase in participants compared to 2021.
The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, first presented in 1999, aims to improve competitiveness and performance within Abu Dhabi’s ecosystem of business by increasing the efficiency and knowledge of organisations and improving employees’ skills and knowledge to achieve optimal financial results and operational results.
Members of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and the Higher Committee of SKEA as well as senior officials and ambassadors attended the ceremony.
The three winning categories were awarded to companies based on their performance in terms of governance and operational excellence. This was done by an expert committee that met the highest standards.
Abdulla Mohamed Al Mazrui said that the 20th cycle of Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award has shown the growing and significant impact of this initiative. SKEA is the most important initiative of the chamber, as it establishes an integrated program for organisational growth that enhances the competitiveness in the business ecosystem of Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
Saeed Abdul Jalil Al Faheem is the Chairman of the Higher Committee of SKEA. He said: “The 20th SKEA cycle has seen a number of enhancements, including an update of administrative processes and advanced digital platforms for managing the evaluation process, as well as new categories, such Best Business Adopting Digital Transformation & Smart Applications, Best Businesses in Terms of Innovation and Best Businesses in Leadership & Strategy.
“The initiative will encourage organizations to improve their competitiveness, enhance their performance and adopt best practices for digital transformation, sustainability, and innovation.”
The winners of the 2023 SKEA have been announced. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank came in first in the Diamond Category for the Finance Sector with a score between 551-600. Etihad Rail was the winner of the Gold category in the Government sector, with a score between 501 and 550. Transguard Group Al Dhafra Hospitals and Al Ansari Exchange were also Gold winners. Many companies were awarded the Silver Award, including AG Engineering and EFS Facilities Management. Other recipients include Al Masaood Automobiles (Al Masaood), India Palace, Lulu Hypermarket Dubai (Lulu Hypermarket Dubai), Al Watba National Insurance co.
