Sharjah’s Ruler attends the launch of Sharjah Animation Conference

SHARJAH, 3rd May, 2023 (WAM) – H.H. In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi is the Deputy Ruler in Sharjah. He launched the first edition, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority, of the Sharjah Animation Conference.

The conference will take place from the 3rd-5th of May, at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad went through the agenda, including a number of practical workshops, discussion and dialogue sessions. He listened to the main topics of the event, which was organised for the very first time in this region.

The working papers on animation will cover the latest and most important technologies. The conference is a major event in the field of animation. It offers an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and provides a global platform.

Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad visited the halls of the platforms of the conference, where he learned about the various activities that were held. The conference opened new horizons to those who are interested in the field, allowing them to meet pioneers and professionals in this industry and to learn the latest news in the world.

Khoula al Mujaini delivered a speech where she praised the unlimited commitment of the Ruler to knowledge. This has made Sharjah an Emirate that is a leader in presenting new knowledge and arts.

Pietro Pinetti delivered a speech where he talked about the highlights of this conference and the importance to specialise in animation.

During the opening ceremonies, Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad was treated to a performance by the Florence Pops Orchestra. The orchestra performed famous international music related to animation. The band is known for its concerts and musical performances which inspire audiences all over the world.

The conference is being organized by the Sharjah book authority in partnership with the Italian Bergamo Animation Days Festival.

Participants share their research and experiences through scientific papers, dialogues and discussions.

The conference will include seminars, workshops and specialised courses, as well as discussion sessions covering different aspects of animation from writing to production techniques. Film screenings will be held at the conference, as well as interviews with stars of the industry.

The Sharjah animation conference aims to provide several platforms to exchange information and facilitate buying and selling of production and publishing rights. It is aimed at young professionals and specialists in animation, and also amateurs.
