ABU DHABI. 3rd MAY 2023. (WAM). NYU Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Special Olympics UAE and Applied and Behavioral Training Institute will host the Annual Inclusion Conference at the NYUAD Conference Centre on the 7th of May.

The conference is open to all and includes families, caregivers and educators as well as leading professionals and community members who are interested in inclusive education of individuals with intellectual or development disabilities (IDD).

This year’s theme is “Advancing inclusion in educational settings within the UAE”. Its purpose is to create a platform where knowledge and experiences from different perspectives can be shared.

Participants will hear from parents, educators and community members. They will also gain a deeper understanding of how to support individuals with IDD.

The conference will include more than 30 speakers who come from different backgrounds and will present various workshops, talks, and case studies both in English and Arabic.

Community members and volunteers are invited to participate in a session titled Breaking Down Barriers to inclusion, moderated by NYUAD Students. They will share their stories and experiences participating in inclusive activities with people with IDD.

The panelists are going to share their experiences, challenges, learnings, and growth in an open discussion. They hope to encourage other members of the community to engage in similar activities and get educated to contribute to a more inclusive world.
