Ammar Al Nuaimi hosts meeting of Ajman Executive Council at the house of poet Rashid Al Khadhar

AJMAN, 3rd May 2023 (WAM). H.H. Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi was Crown Prince of Ajman, and President of Ajman’s Executive Council. He presided over the meeting held in the newly-opened house of late poet Rashid Al Khadhar.

The house’s opening is a fitting tribute to one of the UAE’s most prominent poets, and a welcome addition to the cultural landscape of the emirate. The restored house is open to visitors who can explore it and learn about its history.

During the meeting Sheikh Ammar instructed the relevant authorities on how to restore the cultural heritage sites of the emirate and promote awareness to future generations by launching local artistic and cultural initiatives.

Ajman also informed him of its proposal to take part in the Arab League’s “Arab Environment Capital Award” 2023-2024, which is aimed at advancing sustainability and establishing partnerships to support environmental sustainability in line with Ajman Vision 2030. Participation in the award will improve Ajman’s environmental performance.

The members of the council were informed of the activities of Global Network of Learning Cities, an initiative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, (UNESCO), which aims to share ideas and solutions in order to provide quality education for everyone. The emirate will be able, by joining the GNLC to work with other cities around the world to improve education and training quality, attract investment and create economic opportunities relating to education and knowledge.

Sheikh Ammar, as part of his efforts, instructed the creation of a taskforce consisting of institutions of the executive council, who will be participating in the GNLC.
