UAE urgently sends food aid to Sudanese Refugees on the Chad Border

ABU DHABI (WAM), 2nd May 2023 – Through the Emirates Red Crescent and Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE sent an urgently needed plane to Abeche Airport, on the border of the Chad with Sudan.

Aid was sent urgently to help refugees who are affected by the current crisis that has displaced thousands of families. The shortage of food is affecting those most vulnerable, including children, women, elderly people and patients.

The UAE initiative to provide immediate aid is intended to ease the burden of humanitarian assistance on Sudanese refugee at the border with Chad and to reduce their suffering due to the lack essential food supplies. The UAE is committed in participating in international relief efforts that are aligned with its directives to provide aid to the Sudanese, and reflect the UAE government’s and people’s commitment to support countries and communities around the world during times of crisis.
