DUBAI, May 1, 2023 (WAM). Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar celebrated International Workers’ Day in Abu Dhabi and Dubai by visiting employees at their workplaces.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, MoHRE, organised activities to mark the annual event on May 1.
Al Awar, accompanied by officials of the Ministry, visited the construction sites for Aldar Properties Abu Dhabi and Dubai Refreshment Company.
During their visits, the executives of both companies briefed the MoHRE delegation on their working conditions, occupational health and safety standards and the requirements they have in place to ensure their employees’ well-being while performing their daily duties.
Dr. Al Awar has praised the two companies for their compliance to regulations and for providing a safe work environment for employees on site.
He also acknowledged that the companies are doing their best to support workers’ welfare by providing basic services and needs such as daily breaks.
Al Awar said that during the visits: “Guaranteeing rights of employees and employer equitably which stabilises employment relationship is a top priority at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation in line with UAE’s international labour conventions.” We are committed to enforcing laws and policies and updating them regularly to ensure decent working conditions and strengthen the UAE’s reputation as a destination for living and working.
Both companies’ workers expressed gratitude to the Ministry for its visit and outreach.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation celebrated International Workers’ Day by organizing several activities. These included honouring the support staff and the most experienced workers in the private sectors.
The Ministry has also honored workers from different skill categories and a group domestic workers. The Ministry also organized sports events that attracted the participation of many workers.
